Aesthetique Beauty Salon - Jan 2010

I also took images for the Aesthetique Beauty Training Salon in January as part of their upcoming new-look website. Aesthetique is not just any typical beauty salon. Okay, so you can go and have your nails done, treat yourself to a facial - however Aesthetique also play host to several SQA-approved courses such as make-up application and manicure/pedicure procedures. They have also acquired the first Regenalite laser in Scotland. The Regenalite laser is particularly effective for those with skin conditions such as Scars, Rosacea, Acne Scarring.

I can personally recommend of the acrylic nail treatments - I’m a habitual nail-biter but for the first time in my life I can actually bear to look at my hands!

G Casino Dundee - Jan 2010

In January, I took some photos of the new G Casino in Dundee for their website. I was pleasantly surprised, given that I’ve never really been inside a casino before, that you can have a whole night out there without gambling away your life savings! The casino has bars, live entertainment, a sports lounge and a restaurant along with several areas for the more traditional roulette and poker tables. The casino is also very high tech, with a lot of the machines being touchscreen! All in all, a nice venue for stag/hen parties, continuing your night out after the club doors have closed, or simply going for lunch with friends.

More Site Updates

Hello everyone, my word it has been a long time since the last blog again!

I’d like to share a few updates with you, namely the changes that have been made to my website. Instead of the 3 different form pages dealing with model, portrait and wedding enquiries, I have slimmed this down as most visitors do not fill out the individual forms, preferring to use the standard Contact page. I have taken those pages out, and compiled a page dealing with all 3 types of photography called “Services/Prices”. This page has links relating to my services and prices for portraits, weddings and model/boudoir-style photo-shoots, along with lots of information on these services and the prices for different packages. I hope you find this layout more useful and less text-heavy.

I have changed the layout and look of the website to what is hopefully a more professional-looking style.

I have also added the facility for you to have password-protected galleries - this is great for showing you previews of the original images, or if you have wedding images you want to share with friends and family but not the rest of the world!

I think that is just about everything for the moment, hope everyone is doing well!

New Updates

I have decided to update the look of the website a little by including a blog section. I need a place where I can rant and share, and what is the point in having your own little corner of webspace if you can’t realise its true potential ;)

I have just returned from Tignes les Brevieres in France, where I spent a week skiing for the first time in my life. I went with my boyfriend and his family, a total party of 16! We had a great time, and I took more than a couple of photos. I was too frightened to take my camera with me while skiing just in case I fell over and crushed my shiny toys, but we did go around snapping pics on foot wherever possible.

As usual, the rest of my photos can be found on my Flickr Account.

Shortly before I left for France, I purchased a nice new Nikon SB-900 flashgun. I admit I haven’t had much chance to use it other than the average household snaps, but the difference between it and my SB-600 is incredible. It’s a lot bigger, and came packed with little bits and pieces, which I love. I love it when you get a nice new toy, and find that there are even more secrets in the box :p The light power and quality is very good, and the best part is that I can now use the SB-600 and SB-900 remotely off camera along with my studio lights, effectively giving me 4 heads instead of 2!

Shortly before I almost left for France, I did some photos for Missy La La’s Boutique in Crichton Street, Dundee. Missy La La’s is a fab shop, with very original twists on modern fashion at good prices, and there definitely is something for everyone in there, even I found a dress or 10 I wouldn’t mind having :p The models were great, and I hope everyone is happy with the result. I’m still relatively new to anything to do with fashion photography, but I really enjoyed doing something different!

Again the rest of the set can be seen here. I did the make-up for the shoot as well, which was really good fun. For some reason, I’m much better at putting make-up on other people than I am at putting it on myself!

Well that’s about all for now, I hope you like this new bloggy section!
